Altecnic raises funds for a worthy cause

A Stafford-based company has helped raise more than £1,700 for one of Staffordshire's best loved charities.

A Stafford-based company has helped raise more than £1,700 for one of Staffordshire's best loved charities.

Altecnic Ltd, the UK's leading provider of high qualityheating and plumbing components, was the lead sponsor for the annual Douglas Macmillan Hospice Golf Day at Trentham Golf Club for the eighth year running.

Affectionately known as the Dougie Mac, the charity provides hospice care for people with life limiting illnesses and support for their families and carers.

Altecnic managing director Alan Sherwin commented: 'We were pleased to be asked to sponsor the event again to help raise another big amount for the charity. Over the years, the Golf Day has become one of the highlights of the county's sporting and business calendar, and Altecnic is proud to be associated with the event whilst supporting the hospice in its vital work.

'The Dougie Mac is very close to our hearts and everyone who took part in the Golf Day enjoyed the experience and it was great to meet so many people from like-minded businesses.'

The Golf Day takes place at Trentham Golf Club every year and involves teams of four from businesses and other organisations across the area.

Alex Ward Brassington, Fundraising Co-ordinator at the Dougie Mac, commented: 'We would like to thank everyone from Altecnic for their support and kind contribution at this year's event. The money donated will help to fund the care and services we have become renowned for in our local community.'

The Dougie Mac is one of several good causes supported by staff from Altecnic. Recently they raised £500 for Cancer Research UK when two members of the team, Charlotte Haycock and Rebecca Swift took part in a local Race for Life fun run.
