Albion’s growth demands new role

Valve specialist, Albion Valves UK, has appointed Steven Bedford as warehouse manager – a new role within the company – due to increasing workloads and continued business growth.

Albion's new warehouse manager Steven Bedford

Steven will manage a team of 12 warehouse personnel, whilst ensuring the smooth operation of all warehousing functions.

The warehouse has been managed by Andrew Simmons for the past six years, who conducted the role alongside his primary purchasing and stock-control role. Albion has grown significantly during this period and it has become clear that the warehouse function is now a full-time role in itself, so a dedicated manager was required to meet the increasing demands. Andrew will continue his role as murchasing manager and Steven will dedicate his time to the management of the warehouse.

Steven joins Albion after an extensive career in the army, having spent 24 years serving in the British Army in the ‘Royal Engineers’. The skills and experience that was obtained during this time will complement the knowledge held by Albion’s existing management team, and will stand him in good stead when managing the warehouse team and a busy warehouse.

Steven commented: “Throughout my career within the Royal Engineers, I have had extensive exposure to managing people, along with experience delivering key projects, this has given me valuable, transferable skills which I am sure will be called upon in my new role. I am looking forward to the challenge ahead and I am confident that I will be able to add value to Albion’s operation.”

David Keys, Albion’s managing director, commented: “This is another great development for Albion, demonstrating both the growth of our management team and the overall business. It also shows our commitment to providing excellent service, even during these turbulent times that we currently find ourselves in. I am sure Steven will succeed in improving and professionalising our warehouse operation, and the whole supply chain will reap the benefits from this.”
