Air movement: Weatherite strikes three-year framework deal with Aston Uni

Weatherite Building Services (WBS) has acquired a three-year framework agreement with a possible year extension at Aston University, Birmingham, covering all aspects of mechanical and electrical work.
Over the past four years, WBS has worked on a one-year rolling framework contract, supporting and completing various works such as ventilation, air conditioning, air handling units, chillers, water heaters, boiler house refurbishment, new and refurbished heating systems and all types of pipe work and pump systems, together with all electrical and control requirements.

A typical example is the new 'Café Tierra' which was converted from an area previously used as a reception and offices. Its conversion has provided students and university staff with a new restaurant /cafeteria facility.

The contract included the supply and installation of a temperature controlled ventilation system to the new kitchen (food preparation and cooking areas), bar section, buffet areas, dishwater facilities, cafeteria and restaurant. The various services within the required facilities including supply, installation and modification to the heating system, all new pipe work services including gas, water (legionella compliance) and drainage.

WBS sales director Martin Thomas says: 'We have enjoyed a long and successful association with Aston University so we are delighted to have been awarded a three-year framework agreement and hope that this union continues long into the future.'

WBS is part of the £40 million Weatherite Group.
