A1 Flue Systems has achieved CE Marking for its complete flue system.
The company believes that it is the only manufacturer in the UK to secure a single accreditation for a complete system, rather than numerous ones for all component parts.
This means architects and building contractors will only have one accreditation for a fully installed flue system - rather than many documents for systems made from individual parts.
From today (1 July) it is a legal requirement for all building services products covered by the harmonised European standards to have a CE Mark when sold in the UK.
A1 director, John Hamnett, said: 'CE Marking is a welcome development within our industry. It's arguably the biggest development for a decade and one which A1 Flue Systems has embraced wholeheartedly.'
'Any developments that raise standards can only be a good thing for the industry and it has created a level playing field where architects and building contractors have clearly defined specifications to work to when planning flue systems for anything, from huge flagship developments such as the Shard, to simple commercial installations.'
