A-Gas acquires Japanese company FUSO

A-Gas, the specialist in the supply and lifecycle management of refrigerants and associated products and services, has acquired the assets and business of Japanese company FUSO.

Group chief executive officer of A-Gas Jack Govers

FUSO offers the reclamation and destruction of refrigerants to customers on a national basis in Japan through a network of regional offices and key processing sites near Tokyo. It also has a long standing and leading presence in the gas detector market in Japan. This transaction transfers the FUSO gas reclamation, destruction and gas detection operations into the existing A-Gas business in Japan.

Group chief executive officer of A-Gas Jack Govers said: “This is an exciting expansion of our global business and strengthens our presence in Asia. We are delighted to be able to expand and offer the services we have developed successfully in other global regions to our existing and new customers in Japan.

“We can now offer full lifecycle management of refrigerant in Japan from supply, recovery, reclamation and destruction. We also believe that the market leading gas detection equipment that FUSO has supplied historically can be utilised in our existing business on a global basis.”

Ken Takise, managing director of A-Gas Japan, said: “A-Gas has previously demonstrated its ability to expand into new markets through acquisition. The Japanese market has been a long term growth target for A-Gas given the focus on environmental regulation and the high levels of recovery and reclamation of refrigerant gas. We are delighted to acquire a long-standing business in Japan to accelerate our plans in the region. We welcome the FUSO employees – as well as the loyal customers of FUSO to A-Gas – and look forward to offering our full services to them in the future as part of the A-Gas Group.”
