NAADUK visits Jasun Envirocare

Ventilation cleaning industry experts from National Association of Air Duct Specialists UK (NAADUK) were invited to Eurovent Association member Jasun Envirocare's factory to hold their regular membership meeting and learn about the latest in filtration standards.

Jasun Envirocare hosted NAADUK’s regional meeting at its Bridgwater factory, and held a seminar on filtration standards and types of filters to suit differing building uses and applications.

NAADUK members were given a presentation by Colin Hitch, the technical director for ISO16890 Air Filters for General Ventilation, a global international standard. The members learnt about air filters classification and energy performance.

There was great focus on PI particle size and how damaging particles can be to the human body, causing cancer and heart problems. Indoor air quality (IAQ) is a subject that NAADUK is championing, aware of the need to educate not only the occupiers of a building but also building owners on improving IAQ.

Mr Hitch also debated the advantages of using low energy filters, which are more efficient and can save companies money in the long-term.

Peter Reid, president of NAADUK, said: “Improving the technical knowledge of our members is of paramount importance.  The professional presentation given by Jasun Envirocare will enable our members to give the correct advice to their clients.”

In attendance at the meeting was another organisation which has a working partnership with NAADUK, the London Fire Brigade, whose representative and watch managerm Michael Richardson, said: “Who knew there were so many different types of filters, with many being bespoke or handmade right here in the UK. As always, great work from NAADUK to provide insight and spread the knowledge of its members throughout the industry.”

Graham Bentley, managing director of Jasun Envirocare, also took members on tour of the factory where in-depth demonstrations were provided along with a vewing of the test centre.

Mr Bentley said: “It was a great pleasure to have hosted the NAADUK October meeting at Jasun Envirocare’s Head Office in Bridgwater. I believe that we have imparted some valuable technical information both on Indoor Air Quality as well as on the new ISO 16890 Air Filters for General Ventilation Standard.”

NAADUK provides the first register for qualified maintenance technicians who have been taught by an accredited training provider in the UK. The aim is to improve industry standards and create a National Register of Duct Cleaners, trained and assessed to the highest standards, for use by local authorities and other organisations.
