The managing director of Wolseley UK, Nigel Sibley, has been replaced by the chief executive of Wolseley Europe to cut costs in the face of tough UK market conditions.
Rob Marchbank already heads up Europe and now takes on full operational responsibility as managing director for Wolseley UK with immediate effect, in addition to his existing duties.
Nigel Sibley, former managing director of Wolseley UK has left the company.
The Wolseley group says the UK md role and Europe job had many similarities which could easily be combined to avoid duplication.

Marchbank will continue to work from his UK base in Theale, Berkshire.
