Trianco Heating Products closes

Sheffield-based Trianco Heating Products has ceased trading.
According to the Sheffield Star, the firm has closed with the loss of 43 jobs.

Dan Butter and Ian Brown, partners in the Leeds office of accountants and business advisers Deloitte, have been appointed as administrators and are holding talks with interested parties about selling the company's assets.

Four years ago, Trianco Heating was acquired by a management team led by the managing director Peter Ferguson.

Deloitte said it was to early to find out why the company ceased trading.

Trianco Training Services Ltd which has its offices and facilities in the same building is still trading. It has no ties with Trianco Heating Products.

TR Engineering acquired the assets from former heating company Trianco Heating Products. Trianco went into administration in July following trading difficulties.

The company manufactured brands such as Aztec electric boilers, Contractor oil and, more recently, Activair air source heat pumps.

TR Engineering (backed by the Mountcity Group) was successful in its bid after several companies showed interest in acquiring the assets. The company intends to continue with the production of Trianco's existing heating ranges including oil, electric and solid fuel appliances, to complement the multi-fuel stove and oil tank business it intends to grow. The company will also hold the existing price of the Activair air source heat pumps. For sales or technical advice please call 0114 257 2300

Amazing to see the TRIANCO brand re-emerged. Speaks volumes that the two directors who had the courage to relaunch didnt bring Gee or Shilito with them. Better luck this time !!

I was shocked to find out the company has gone bust, as I've just moved into a barn conversion which the developers have installed this system. It's not working properly and comes up with a "spanner" symbol plus number 8 on the LCD display.

Does anyone know what this means?

Very disappointing news since we have an eighteen month old boiler which has not been performing well and we were awaiting an engineer's visit.
