Timoleon launches new fast and flexible fixing system for underfloor heating pipes

The new ClipPlates now available from Timoleon have been purpose designed to speed the installation of high efficiency underfloor heating systems.
Timoleon launches new fast and flexible fixing system for underfloor heating pipes
For years underfloor heating companies have sought to devise an effective means of holding the pipework firmly in place in whatever configuration may be required. The early method of tying the pipes to a wire mesh required intensive backbreaking labour, but attempts to improve on it by developing clip plates often brought their own problems with the plates distorting under the tension caused by the looped pipes.

This was a particular issue at the edges of the plate, where it abutted with its neighbours.

Pouring an even screed under these circumstances was made considerably more difficult.

Versatile
Timoleon's new ClipPlate solution not only provides a versatile means of retaining the pipe to the required layout, but the 10mm layer of expanded polystyrene integrated beneath each plate also guards against deformation - and provides extra insulation into the bargain!

In addition to providing a firm grip on the pipe the deep castellations on the ClipPlate offer protection from site traffic and the screeding process.
The configuration of the castellations makes it easy to install pipes at regular centres - as close as 50mm; a particularly useful feature when working close to the manifold.

Pipe layout is equally flexible. The ClipPlate allows pipes to be installed at 45o and 90o angles, offers options in addition to the traditional 'snail' or concentric loop patterns.

Thanks to the extra layer of insulation the ClipPlate panels are sufficiently rigid not to need fixing to the subfloor. Other systems have to fixed by means of barbed staples, which can be a frustrating problem in areas where there is no immediate layer of insulation to fix down into.

Since it needs no staples Timoleon's new ClipPlate also avoids breaching regulations such as acoustic details E-FC-4, -5 and -6 where piercing the acoustic layer would invalidate the Robust Standard Detail (RSD).

In applications where floor build-up is limited the integrated 10mm layer of expanded polystyrene also provides additional resistance to downward heat loss.
The ingenious interlocking systems holds ClipPlates firmly together making them ideal for use with liquid screeds. The system also works well with Timoleon expansion foam and polythene gaiter, which both seals the floor edges and protects walls against screed expansion.

Timoleon ClipPlates can be used with most commonly used underfloor heating pipes, but make a perfect companion for the company's own versatile 15mm pipework, which can also be used for domestic hot and cold water services. (See www.timoleon.ltd.uk).
