The UK’s only dedicated event for the building controls sector is back

From building management Systems (BMS) to wireless controls, energy management solutions and simple devices to help people take control of the environment, The Building Controls Show provides a launch pad for new technology roll-outs and product enhancements. The event is being staged at Sandown Park from 22-23 October, with Schneider Electric as Lead Sponsor.

Visitors to the show will see the latest cutting-edge technology and have free access to the industry’s top experts, with seminar sessions covering topical business and technical issues. The seminar programme, boasting range of CPD accredited seminars, will be published next month with visitors invited to pre-register for each session. Any remaining seats will be allocated on a first come, first served basis at the show.

The Building Controls Show will feature a wide range of exhibitors, showcasing the very latest in building control technologies, including: Advanced Building Controls, DEOS, Alpha Air, BCIA, BEG UK, Carlo Gavazzi, CBS Butler, CMR Controls, Contemporary Controls, Cylon Controls, Distech Controls, Dwyer, Enocean, Industrial Interface, Innotech, ITW Switches, KNX, Open System Solutions, Priva, Theben, Vaisala, Wago, Schneider Electric, Priva and Home of Technologies. Further industry partnerships will be announced in due course.

With free admission and free parking making the UK’s only dedicated event for the building controls industry an even more attractive prospect, The Building Controls Show 2014 has seen a sharp increase people registering to attend. Every individual who registers and attends the show this October will also receive a FREE race day ticket. Those who pre-register and attend the show before 2.30pm on either day will also be entered into a FREE prize draw to win a case of champagne. A winner will be picked at random each day and announced at 3.00pm at the BSEE stand. One lucky visitor will also be picked at random to win a VIP day at the races for two.

The Building Controls Industry Association (BCIA) meanwhile, has announced plans to hold its quarterly members meeting at the Show this October, together with an open meeting for non-members. Commenting on the decision, BCIA executive officer Karen Fletcher said: “The meeting will bring all of our members to the show, giving those that are not exhibiting the chance to see it and us the opportunity to speak to potential members.”

The BCIA will also be leading a seminar on the British and European Standard 15232, in which it will outline how businesses can modify their existing building management systems to become more energy efficient.

Reflecting on the 2013 event, Karen said: “It was a very busy and useful show for us, many of our members were there and we were able to speak quite a few potential members too.” Looking forward to this year’s event, Karen said: “We want our members to see us out there in the marketplace engaging in events, strengthening our brand and meeting new members. We also want the industry to see that we are an active membership organisation that they should be part of.”

This dedicated event will not only provide the industry with access to what is new and available now, helping to resolve current needs and application challenges, but also a real insight into the exciting developments and technical innovations that are currently being undertaken in the building controls industry.
