The HVAC & Refrigeration Show 2018 – Live in London

The UK’s only commercial exhibition for air conditioning, heating, ventilation, heat pumps and refrigeration, including refrigerated transport just got even more exciting….

Taking place every other year The ACR Show launched in 2012 as the UK’s only dedicated air conditioning and refrigeration show. By popular demand, the heating and ventilation sectors were included for the 2016 event. Following the success of this new format and calls from the heating and ventilation sectors, The ACR Show became The HVAC & Refrigeration Show to widen its appeal to visitors and businesses alike, coupled with a move to ExCeL in January 2018 at the request of the wider industry.

New Reach

The HVACR Show is returning to the city of London from 23-25 January 2018 at London’s ExCel Centre, placing it within easy reach of big business.

Event manager Karena Cooper comments: “Moving to ExCel will generate new commercial opportunities with the lucrative South of England, London and the Home Counties.

“ExCel can be easily accessed by major transport links and airports, to attract more visitors from all over the country.”

New Approach

New initiatives have been put in place, designed to engage key brands and reach industry nationally and internationally.

These include:

Working lunches

The HVAC & Refrigeration Show will feature a series of three working lunches over the duration of the show in the new ‘Business Hub’. Sponsors will be invited to give a short pre-lunch talk and network informally with invited guests over lunch.

Live Debates

A three day series of live debates on key issues including:

Smart cities – future markets

Supermarkets – highlighting new approaches

Hotels – Looking at new designs/new legislation and intelligent solutions

A panel of guest speakers from manufacturing, industry figures and retail sectors will be invited to present on these issues, also in the new ‘Business Hub’

IOR Conference

The Institute of Refrigeration (IOR) will hold its annual conference at the show for the second time in 2018.

The 2016 conference explored how energy and emission saving in component and system design was being achieved. It focused on the impact of refrigerant choice (driven by new F Gas Regulation), design standards (changing requirements of European Safety Standards, such as the proposed revisions to EN378), meeting and exceeding efficiency targets (driven by the Ecodesign Directive), and international policy (proposed amendments to Montreal Protocol).  It also looked at the opportunities offered by the role of new emerging markets (recycled/recovery/efficiency inspections, overseas developments and facilitating new technologies.)

The 2018 programme will be announced shortly.

SkillFRIDGE Competition Series – Set to inspire a new generation

Datateam Business Media is both the organiser of The HVAC & Refrigeration Show and the official operating partner for the national SkillFRIDGE competition, part of the WorldSkills portfolio of vocational skills competitions. The series launch will take place at the show.

Seminars

Besides a fantastic line-up of exhibitors, The HVAC & Refrigeration Show will feature CPD accredited programmes in two seminar theatres – the HVACR Theatre and the Training & Skills Theatre.

Both will offer a three day programme, with The Training & Skills Theatre featuring speakers from UK and European Associations, with the Institute of Refrigeration and worldSkills UK presentations taking centre stage.
