Technical training takes off at Bitzer UK

Bitzer UK is gearing up technical training for system designers and installation engineers, as part of its drive to improve knowledge and skills across the industry.

The latest courses held at its new Milton Keynes training facility focused on screw compressor technology, and were attended by 30 engineers from as far afield as Ireland.

The one-day module provides a combination of theoretical and hands-on training, designed to get engineers up-to-speed with the latest technology and enable them to select, apply and maintain equipment competently.

Heading up the programme is Marcus Levy, head of technical training and business development at Bitzer UK. He said: “While the principles of refrigeration and compression don’t change, the technology – and not least the way it is controlled and optimised – is subject to constant development and innovation. To get the best out of today’s systems and ensure they perform at maximum efficiency, it is important to understand how they operate and how to commission and service plant correctly.”

He added: “The course covers everything you need to know, with hands-on practice for those at the sharp end of installation and servicing.”

The screw compressor training was well-received, with delegates giving a 95 per cent “excellent” rating for the quality and relevance of content.

Other courses cover a general introduction to compressor technology, plus modules on reciprocating compressors, inverters and condensing units. There is a focus throughout on UK requirements and applications.

The next courses – which are free and offered on a first-come, first-served basis – are scheduled to run as follows:

4 Oct: Inverter Technology

1 Nov: Scew Technology

15 Nov: Inverter Technology

6 Dec: Screw Technology

13 Dec: Inverter Technology
