Fire safety expert Hugh Mahoney has been appointed technical manager of Cardiff-based ventilation manufacturer and smoke control specialist Bovema UK.
Smoke control expert joins Bovema
The former chairman of the Smoke Control Association will be responsible for the technical design and installation of all Bovema projects in the UK.

Mahoney was previously general manager of the smoke division at NuAire and managing director of Leicester-based Advanced Smoke Technology.

He also sits on the British Standards Institute committee on smoke control and represents the committee on the European working group, which monitors smoke control systems in buildings.

David Fitzpatrick, managing director of Bovema UK, said: 'Hugh's experience and technical know-how will be absolutely crucial in taking our business forward to the next level. While we have always had excellent design expertise, we can now offer serious technical support on and off site that will allow us to attract much larger projects across the UK'.
