RDM acquires Asian operation as global expansion continues

RDM Asia is currently working with some of the region’s largest companies to implement control and monitoring networks for national estates and industrial facilities.

Resource Data Management has acquired RDM Asia as part of its global growth strategy.

With headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, RDM Asia has grown significantly since being established in 2009 to serve the rapidly expanding Asian market. Acquired from Malaysian company AWC, the business now becomes part of RDM Group.

This latest acquisition follows the purchase by RDM of Taiwan manufacturer FYC in 2008 and Indian software company Resorsys (renamed RDM India) in 2009, and the successful opening of RDM’s US office in 2012.

Managing director Andrew Chandler said: “Asia is a key growth market in the global economy, and we see huge opportunities in the HVAC and BMS sector. RDM Asia has already achieved tremendous success with ‘early adopters’ looking for alternatives to current systems that are cost-effective and proven to deliver.”

He continued: “We will be building on this excellent start, and rolling out a strategic growth plan with aggressive customer acquisition targets, and expanded sales and support teams on the ground.”

The scale of the potential market, coupled with its rapid growth, means it is a key focus in RDM’s expansion plans. The company will be following the growth model successfully applied in North America following the launch of RDM USA Inc two years ago.
