The recent publication by SOCITM reporting on the implementation of the EU Services Directive ranks Quidos top of the energy assessor accreditation schemes, and 8th out of 107 competent authorities within the 'Better connected for business' survey.
The directive, governed by BIS, came into place at the end of 2009, and requires all government registered authorities to comply with various regulations.

As well as requiring greater transparency over the costs and time taken by authorities to process applications, the regulations require that the competent authority provides a range of specific information, plus the capability for businesses to make applications electronically.

'We have been working very hard on making the process of application as straightforward, and as painless for the customer as possible,' said Katie Fielden, Quidos accreditation scheme manager.

'It is very important to us that we strive to improve all facets of the accreditation scheme, and the application process and website content is just one of them.'

Quidos is one of the only accreditation schemes to provide a fully integrated online application system and the report specifically comments that 'applying to be accredited seems very straightforward,' she added.

'We are always looking for new and innovative ways to ensure our members and site users can access the information they require quickly and with ease within a user friendly and engaging online portal,' insisted Darren Hussey, Quidos technical director.
