Plumb Center and Parts Center have appointed Rob Gladwin into the newly created role of chief operating officer.
The appointment is part of Wolseley UK's wider strategy to grow the business and cement its number one position in the market.

Keith Jones, managing director Plumb Center, Parts Center, William Wilson and BCG said: 'Rob will help to drive our ambitious growth strategy and ensure we achieve our aim of becoming the merchant of choice for both our customers and suppliers.

'Reporting to me, he will manage and develop the Plumb Center and Parts Center branch network and be responsible for driving the performance of the business and ensuring we achieve our growth targets.'

Most recently, Mr Gladwin was chief executive officer at Focus DIY and prior to that he was managing director of Travis Perkins' Benchmarx division. He also held a number of executive roles at Wickes.
