SkillPIPE 2009 is the brand new M&E skills competition seeking to crown the UK's top talent from the heating and ventilating industry.
SkillPIPE 2009 will test individuals' commercial heating pipework skills, but first needs your nominations.
As well as great pipe fitting skills, SkillPIPE candidates must display excellent pipe welding skills (in either MMA or O/A welding processes).
If you're an employer, college or training provider with a talented individual amongst your ranks, event organiser SummitSkills has produced a talent spotting checklist to help you narrow down your shortlist of possible competitors.
SkillPIPE competitors will be assessed using practical tests. The semi-finals will take place from April to June 2009 and will be followed by a UK final this summer.
Completed nomination entry forms must be returned to SummitSkills by March 31, 2009.
SkillPIPE is one of four skills competitions that recognise top m&e engineers in the building services sector. SummitSkills is also seeking nominations for SkillPLUMB 2009. It will host SkillPLUMB's regional heats, which will be followed by the final, this autumn. The highest scoring competitors at the SkillPLUMB final may get the chance to compete in the 2011 WorldSkills competition.
