NIBE to supply heat pump systems for Pye Homes at Welborne Garden Village

NIBE Energy Systems Limited is supporting the delivery of future-ready homes at Welborne Garden Village by supplying ground source heat pump systems for properties built by Pye Homes in the first phase of the landmark Hampshire development. The homes are served by a shared ground loop ambient heat network, enabling highly efficient, low-carbon heating and hot water.

NIBE is supplying heat pumps to Pye Homes

Located north of Fareham, Welborne Garden Village is a new master-planned community designed to combine traditional neighbourhood design with modern sustainability principles. As part of the first phase, Pye Homes is delivering a collection of high-quality homes within the Dashwood neighbourhood, where NIBE heat pump systems will provide efficient heating and hot water for residents.

The installation forms part of Welborne’s forward-thinking energy strategy, which uses a shared ground loop ambient network to distribute low-grade renewable heat sourced locally.  NIBE ground source heat pumps installed within each home upgrade this energy to provide heating and hot water, delivering efficient comfort while supporting long-term carbon reduction and energy performance goals.

Welborne’s ambient network infrastructure allows multiple homes to share a renewable heat source, reducing overall energy demand while improving system efficiency. In warmer months, the system can also support passive cooling, helping maintain indoor comfort as temperatures rise.

Paul Smith, Managing Director of NIBE Energy Systems (UK), said: “Welborne represents a new generation of thoughtfully planned communities, where long-term sustainability and quality of living are built in from the outset.  By combining a shared ground loop network with NIBE ground source heat pump technology, these homes benefit from efficient, reliable heating and hot water while supporting the future direction of low-carbon housing.”

Pye Homes, one of the selected housebuilders delivering the first phase of Welborne, is known for combining traditional craftsmanship with modern construction standards. The homes at Dashwood have been designed to be highly energy efficient and future ready, incorporating low-carbon technologies that support both environmental performance and everyday comfort.

Danielle Simpson, Sales Director, Pye Homes added: “Welborne is an exciting new community designed with sustainability, wellbeing and long-term quality in mind. Working with NIBE allows us to integrate proven, energy-efficient heating technology into our homes, supporting comfort for residents while aligning with the future direction of housing and energy performance.”

Welborne Garden Village has been conceived as a landscape-led community with extensive green space, community amenities and sustainable infrastructure designed to support modern living. The first show homes at Dashwood are expected to welcome visitors this Spring.

The collaboration between NIBE and Pye Homes highlights the growing importance of integrating renewable heat networks and high-efficiency heat pump technology into large-scale residential developments. By combining shared infrastructure with in-home systems, projects such as Welborne are helping shape a new generation of housing designed to meet both current performance standards and future expectations.
