Kingspan buys into Oz expansion

Insulation specialist Kingspan has expanded its position in the Australian market with its purchase of Air-Cell Innovations.
The Irish group has bought the Australian firm, Air-Cell Innovations, a leading distributor of flexible reflective insulation foil products.

Headquartered in Perth, Air-Cell Innovations has established offices and distribution networks throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia, the Middle East and the Pacific.

Kingspan already has operations in Australia. The acquisition sees the Air-Cell brand maintained within the Kingspan Insulation range.

'To be known as Kingspan Insulation Pty, the merging of the two brands in this new venture will allow an exceptional and unparalleled range of products and expertise to be offered to the Australian market, which already enjoys a high level of quality and technical support from Air-Cell', said a spokesman for Kingspan.

Peter Wilson, managing director of Kingspan Insulation said: 'We are looking forward to offering the Australian market some of the best insulation products available in the global construction industry, providing cutting edge technology aimed at helping to beat global warming.'

Air-Cell Innovations had sales of €14.4m in the 12 months ended June 30.
