In a league of their own

BSRIA and Chelsea Football Club ‘teamed up’ when BSRIA provided an ‘Introduction to Thermography’ training day which showcased that Chelsea are experts ‘on and off the field’.

Thermography is used by the football club to assist with the many buildings that they run.

The one day course looked at: the principles of infrared thermography (IRT); equipment and data acquisition; applications – electrical; mechanical and buildings; image processing; reporting; standards and regulations; condition based maintenance and heat flow through structures and structural types.

The course enabled those new to thermography to start to use thermography on building fabric and building services. Delegates gained an understanding of the principles involved, the most suitable conditions and the best methods to use.

Thermography can provide quick diagnosis of problems in buildings and their services in commissioning, operation and maintenance.

David Bleicher, BSRIA training manager, said: “Thermography has myriad applications in buildings of all sorts. Here at BSRIA, we’re always happy to provide training to help building owners make the most of this technique.”

Tailored thermography courses can be created for any business by BSRIA. The next scheduled one day course will be held on Thursday 30th November
