IKK 2008 is scrapped

IKK 2008, the international trade fair for refrigeration, air conditioning, and ventilation, which had been scheduled to take place this October, has been cancelled.
IKK 2008 is scrapped
After almost 30 years existence and having grown to be the major European Event, the organisers of IKK have cancelled this year's event.

A statement on the organisers website bears the brief notice 'IKK 2008 will not take place - detailed information will soon be available'.

There will as a result be only one international trade fair for the air conditioning and refrigeration industry in Germany this year.

Faced with the strong rival show Chillventa, in Germany's Nürnberg from October 15-17, the organisers of IKK have thrown in the towel.

IKK, which was due to take place in Stuttgart from October 8-10,
had attracted pledges from around 200 companies, mainly German and Chinese.

The rival Chillventa exhibition by comparison, established by a large breakaway group of exhibitors pushing for a biennial event in Nuremberg.

It has attracted major support from most of the major international manufacturers and suppliers. Figures pulled on March 26, show it has an exhibitors list of 524 firms.
