Dr Elaine Lancaster has been appointed research & development director of Ideal Heating.

Dr Lancaster has an impressive academic background in metallurgy and the science of materials, and has held senior positions at several leading brands throughout her career in the heating industry, as well as from her earlier roles at Corus.

She will lead Ideal's research and development programme, working across the whole product range including domestic and commercial boilers, heat pumps, solar thermal and photovoltaics (PV), and the application of new system controls.
