Ideal donates boiler to help raise funds for Lapland trip

Ideal has donated a new Logic+ boiler to help a fundraising drive in Merseyside.

Independent Walton plumbers merchant Ken Knight and his team have been fundraising since January to help the family of customer, Billy McDonald, to take granddaughter Jessica to Lapland at Christmas to meet Santa.

Mr Knight is a long-standing friend of the family and wanted to do something fun for four year old Jessica who has Cerebral Palsy. He discussed the fund-raising with his Ideal sales manager, Lee Nickless who arranged for Ideal to donate the new boiler.

Mr Nickless said: “As someone with a close friend whose child has physical disabilities, I know how important it is for families to have some down-time together. I was delighted that Ideal agreed to help Ken’s fundraising and urge all his customers to dig deep and buy a raffle ticket. I know that Jessica and her family will have a wonderful time in Lapland – I’m going to ask Santa if I can go next year!”

The boiler will be on display at Ken’s premises in Walton, Merseyside from July to the end of August. Tickets are £10 and Ken hopes to raise the final £1200 of the £3200 needed to fund the Lapland trip.
