Hitachi expands its UK sales team

In line with new MD, Gboyega Obafemi’s ambitious growth plans, Hitachi has recently appointed three new area sales managers covering London, Scotland and the North West.

Previously working on major construction projects throughout the UK with Jaga Heating Products for 21 years, David Taylor takes responsibility for London and the South East, and will be developing relationships with architects, consultants and developers to offer Hitachi products at design stage right through to installation and commissioning. He will also be building on existing Hitachi customer and partner associations to drive sales growth of Hitachi’s entire product range.

Martin Tanner has extensive experience within HVAC contracting and the wholesale environment so is well placed to serve Hitachi customers in Scotland. Martin will be growing the Set Free VRF and Utopia Splits business and actively promoting the full range of Hitachi products in the region.

Based in Bolton, Richard Simpson is covering the North West and Wales, and joins the business from Cool Tech Air Conditioning where he was Director of Sales for over seven years. Speaking about joining Hitachi, Richard said, “We have a fantastic range of products to suit every application and I’ll be making sure our customers understand the many benefits of specifying and installing Hitachi; our IVX Centrifugal condenser is a totally unique product in the market so we just need to get the message out.”

“Richard, David and Martin have joined the direct sales team at an exciting time for the business. Our merger with Johnson Controls opens up a new potential customer base for us, as we now have even more products to cover every possible application. We’ll be launching a number of new products over the next few months so it’s a very exciting time to be part of Hitachi”, commented Garry McKeon, specification sales manager.
