Gilberts thermal control

How do you balance the need to prevent wasted energy, and ensure occupants are comfortable, without having to spend money and time connecting ventilation to building management systems? Gilberts Blackpool has an answer.

Gilberts GSJ series.

The thermal control technique means the ventilation inlet- the swirl diffuser- is a stand-alone solution, that adjusts airflow depending on the internal air temperature.

It provides rapid entrainment and mixing, harnessing physics principles to achieve a constant comfortable internal environment, whether warming or cooling is required.

Gilberts’ thermally-controlled diffusers deliver omni-directional, rotating warm air in the vertical, and cool air in a horizontal direction, thereby eliminating draughts whilst providing rapid and efficient initial warm up and eliminating potential cold spots at low level. Depending on the thermal control technology within, it changes the air within the internal space in seconds.

Gilberts’ thermally-controlled swirl diffusers are completely self-contained and self-adjusting; there is no need for external connection to a control or building management system or human intervention. They can accommodate a range of ceiling supply applications, including exposed ductwork, square ceiling grids, clip-in ceilings and perforated ceilings.

Ian Rogers, Gilberts’ sales director, explains: “Everything Gilberts does is about making life as comfortable as possible for the contractor and the subsequent occupant. The thermal control option simplifies the whole project, be it new build, in-use or refit, in most types of commercial buildings almost irrespective of ceiling height- everywhere from offices to arenas.”

The thermal option compliments manual, electric and pneumatic control methods. To ensure an appropriate, fresh internal environment, Gilberts produces a range of complimentary exhaust swirl units.

Gilberts’ swirl diffusers are already attainting recognition, being used in, among other projects, Uber’s European Centre of Excellence, Primark stores, Liverpool Exhibition Centre and Texaco filling stations.

Gilberts’ swirl diffusers are just part of the company’s range of grilles, louvres and diffusers for natural and mechanical ventilation.
