Geberit unveils its HQ in Warwick

Swiss piping and sanitation specialist Geberit has unveiled its Warwick headquarters and training academy.
Following a 10 month building project, Geberit is celebrating the move of its HQ from Aylesford to Warwick and the opening of its training academy for installers using its products.

Geberit first came to Warwick in 2007 to set up of a warehouse and distribution centre in the town. Its new 12,000 sq ft £2.5 million pound HQ has a ground floor dedicated to training including a hydraulic tower demonstrating good and bad plumbing, practical work rooms and a product showroom.

The building's unveiling coincides with the arrival of Geberit's 10th anniversary in the UK. Mark Larden, managing director of Geberit UK said it had achieved a £32 million pound turnover in 2008.

'I do not feel too bad for our sector or for our company. There will be dramatic population growth between now and 2050 and people will need water, housing and infrastructure. We have not stopped investing. We are buying land in China to expand operations', said Bernd Kuhlin, executive board member for the Geberit Group.

He added: 'A lot of installers are now more open to new products. Buildings are greener but the skills shortage remains'.

The HQ has 22 staff members. Nine people have relocated from Aylesford to Warwick.

Carbon reductions for northern arena

Rinnai hot water systems are projected to produce ‘significant’ carbon reductions at a huge indoor arena in the North of England. The company has produced a designed system based on its R290 high-temperature heat pump. This arena regularly hosts large events such as concerts, conferences, theatre plays, exhibitions, live music and other conventions – so the site must have an energy efficient and carbon-reducing hot water system to achieve NetZero.
