CORGI's chief of operations resigns

The chief operating officer of CORGI, Ian Powney has resigned.
Powney, who joined CORGI as finance and corporate services director five years ago, resigned on January 31.

Following his resignation, Mike Thompson, current chair of CORGI will take on the CEO post.

During his time at CORGI, Powney introduced a new accounting system and a new management reporting and control regime.

Powney helped change CORGI's corporate structure and worked to create the CORGI Trust.

A spokesman for CORGI said 'Since moving from the position of CEO to CORGI group chairman, Mike has remained fully engaged in CORGI and its strategy. Therefore, he is extremely well placed to move back into the role of CEO'.
