Contractors can help customers save money claim

Air conditioning and heating contractors have been advised to tell customers that current and previous installations can be claimed against tax using capital allowance.

Specialist capital allowance claims company Portal Tax Claims, says it has reclaimed over £60 million worth of mis-sold endowments and payment protection insurance for over 20,000 customers. It claims to have reclaimed, on average, £105,000 for each business in outstanding capital allowance for items ranging from fire alarm systems to heating and air conditioning.
Portal Tax Claims estimates that 96 per cent of businesses that own their own properties, or commercial property owners, could be owed a refund.
Shaun Murphy, CEO of Portal Tax Claims, said: 'In the current climate, owners of commercial property need to save every penny that they can and, at the moment. Most are unaware that such valuable capital allowances are waiting to be claimed. Literally hundreds of billions of pounds are due to owners, but most lack the necessary expertise to make the claim, which can be a complicated process.'
