Mark Farrar is ConstructionSkills' new chief executive who will take over from Peter Lobban when he retires this August.
Construction Skills sets sail with new boss
Farrer, the director of corporate services for Construction Skills was hired for the top post after getting the thumbs up from major contractors, SMEs, unions, education organisations and industry federations.

Farrer joined ConstructionSkills as corporate services director in March 2007. In this role, he was accountable for managing the CITB-ConstructionSkills levy and grant system to ensure as much money as possible can be paid back to industry. He was also responsible for managing the business planning, finance, human resources, IT and legal functions of the organisation.

Farrer spent his early years in the Navy and has a degree in Oceanography.

Farrer's replacement for the role of director of corporate services is yet to be announced.
