Climate Center boosts stock levels ahead of peak season

Following unprecedented demand last year and as part of a new stocking initiative, Climate Center has increased its stockholding by 50%, compared to the same period last year.

The distributor of refrigeration and air conditioning products is guaranteeing availability at all times during high season by backlogging orders by up to four months in advance, enhancing communication channels between branches and head office and implementing robust supplier agreements.

The new initiative includes all key product lines, but with a particular focus on Climate Center’s own Beermaster cellar cooling range, along with air conditioning split units and refrigeration condensing units.

Managing director Andy Wighton said: “We are using our experience, anticipation of customer demand and local intelligence from across the branch network to ensure that customers have access to the stock they need, when they need it, where they need it.”

The increased volumes of stock have been strategically spread across Climate Center’s extensive network and levels are supported by an automated system that enables immediate replenishment.

Nikita Flanaghan, inventory planner at Climate Center, who led the project, said: “We’ve analysed sales data from last year in order to negotiate agreements with suppliers ahead of the upcoming peak season and worked more closely than ever with our branch managers and sales team to make sure the right stock is in place when and where customers want it.”
