CIC invites participation in online consultation

Construction Industry Council (CIC) has completed a review of the national occupational standards (NOS) for Built Environment Design and Consultancy Practice. The review has focused on integrating new industry practices relating to sustainability, energy use, low carbon and Building Information Modelling.

These standards are concerned with directing design practice and making strategic decisions when leading and managing. They serve a wide range of design disciplines, including civil & structural design, building surveying, architectural technology and architecture. The standards will also form part of a new Scottish

Professional Apprenticeship at SVQ5/SCQF 11 that is being developed with Scottish employers and SQA.

CIC is now seeking confirmation from the sector that the standards are fit for purpose and is inviting participation through an on line consultation.

Details of the consultation are available on http://cic.consult-on.com. The deadline for responses is 9 September 2014
