BESA appoints head of Scotland and Northern Ireland

BESA (the Building Engineering Services Association) has appointed Iain McCaskey as head of Scotland and Northern Ireland.

This new role will bring leadership in membership and training delivery in Scotland and Northern Ireland into one place, providing the opportunity to better serve members and customers, BESA says.

Mr McCaskey joins the BESA following 15 years with the Federation for Industry Sector Skills and Standards, where he held a number of senior positions - most recently that of operations director - and where his achievements included creating and developing a national apprenticeship certification system and a centralised payment portal with an online self-training tool.

He will be based at the BESA's offices outside Edinburgh. He will report to Richard Ward and to Tony Howard, director of BESA Training. Zanna Tweedie will continue in the role of assistant national executive for Scotland and Northern Ireland.
