Armstrong integrates UK operations under new name

Armstrong has merged its two key UK operations -its off-site construction firm (in Halesowen) and its HVAC equipment arm (in Manchester and Redhill).
The two firms will now operate as a single company and have been named Armstrong Integrated, effective from June 7.

The company said the changes do not involve any scaling down of activities and operations will continue at all three sites - Halesowen, Manchester and Redhill - with the existing workforce and same management structure.

Richard Strode continues to head up HVAC Manufacturing and Sales while Steve Cooper is responsible for renewables and sustainability.

Armstrong's history of acquiring a number of companies with complementary specialisms has led to separate accounts being filed and legally the two operations have been running as two separate firms. Armstrong said the move was made to simplify administration and daily contact for its customers who frequently require products and services from both divisions.

The integration of the firms helps Armstrong speed up its product development activities in areas including: low carbon heating and cooling, including the integration of renewable technologies such as biomass, heat pumps and solar thermal.

Richard Strode said, 'For the last five years, both companies have operated side by side, offering distinct specialisms to the market. Armstrong Integrated will continue to leverage the strengths of our core product offering but with a greater emphasis on carbon reduction and whole life cost for the system, not just at a product level, but as a single provider of energy solutions and services to both the new construction market and the refurbishment/retrofit market.'
