A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed on 29 October through which Moscow-based Apek-S will provide representation for Airedale in Russia and the CIS.

Airedale's commercial director Mark Viner said: 'We have enjoyed an incredibly successful working relationship with Apek-S for some years now and are confident that their local knowledge, technical expertise and strong relationships with key players in the region will have a positive impact on sales in one of our key growth territories.'

He added: 'We see excellent growth potential in Russia as the country continues to invest in local infrastructure.'

Pavel Nazarov, head of Airedale Russia & CIS Representation, said: 'Airedale is highly regarded in the region both for its product innovation, quality and reliability and for its controls integration capabilities. We firmly believe we have the best partner to help us develop our ever-increasing customer base here in Russia.'

Apek-S, with its 30 staff, will provide local sales, commissioning and service support throughout Russia and the CIS to data centres, systems integrators and HVAC contractors.

Over the past 10 years the two businesses have managed a large number of key customer installations in the country, including precision air conditioning, chiller and controls integration for Gazprom, Promsvyazbank and Russian Railways, and have strong working relationships with Russia's leading data centre systems integrators.

The MOU was announced at the DatacenterDynamics exhibition which took place at Moscow's World Trade Center on 29 October, along with the launch of a number of new product innovations including the AireFlow 150-300kW indirect adiabatic air handling unit and a new Smartcool 11-233kW dedicated chilled water chiller range.
