Heating and Ventilating

What do a British warship, a national gallery, an orangery and a collection of classic cars have in common?

These were four of the sites one of our service engineers, Drew Strong, visited in just one week to provide general service and maintenance as part of their Planned Maintenance contracts – an excellent example of the interesting and varied applications for humidity control.

Tuesday:

On board HMS Trent in Portsmouth – a River-class offshore patrol vessel with a crew of 40, which conducts operations from fishery protection, to anti-smuggling border patrols, counter-terrorism and counter-piracy. Drew’s job was to service and provide training on the four Vapac humidifiers installed on board to provide comfortable living conditions for the crew.

Wednesday:

In London at the Tate Britain commissioning two new SKE4 Neptronic humidifiers which serve to maintain stable 50% relative humidity in visitor and storage areas of this prestigious Gallery, to preserve the magnificent paintings and archives.

Thursday:

• A double header in the West of England.

Firstly, providing general maintenance to the Airtec high pressure water humidifier with reverse osmosis plant which ensures the ideal conditions are maintained for a unique collection of Mediterranean plants housed in the private orangery of a UK industrialist’s home.

• This was followed by carrying out planned maintenance on two HomEvap evaporative humidifiers which control the environment to preserve and protect a superb collection of classic cars, ensuring bodywork, interior fabrics and electrics are all kept in excellent condition and do not suffer any deterioration due to fluctuating humidity in the storage unit.

Four visits and four very different applications, each with different technologies of humidifiers. This clearly demonstrates the versatility and depth of training and knowledge of the Humidity Solutions engineers.

Planned maintenance is probably the easiest way of saving running costs and money. Humidity Solutions would be pleased to quote for any humidity related projects with any make or model of humidifier or dehumidifier cared for.
