Heat pump manufacturer Viessmann has joined BEAMA's Domestic Heat Pump Association (BDHPA).
Working with heating manufacturers including Worcester Bosch, Dimplex, Baxi, Danfoss Heat Pumps, Vaillant, Stiebel Eltron, Zehnder UK and Myson, BEAMA created the BEAMA Domestic Heat Pump Association a year ago.

A spokesman for BEAMA said:'Such a major player as Viessmann joining our growing ranks, reflects the continuing impact we're making in the marketplace as part of our plan to promote the installation of over 1 million heat pumps in the UK by 2020. Having Viessmann onboard adds even more weight in our evolution as a potent force in the heat pump arena.'

The association members are working with government and other partners to achieve the objectives of the Renewable Energy Strategy, so that by 2020 heat pumps help increase the renewable heat share from 1% to 12%.

'The recent focus towards renewable products in the UK market now makes it important to have strong and focussed manufacturer representation to ensure the market is well prepared for the development and installation of heat pump systems'' said Viessmann's director of product management Christian Engelke.
