Vent-Axia expands UK manufacturing

Vent-Axia is doubling its manufacturing capacity of unitary domestic fans at its Crawley site.
Vent-Axia expands UK manufacturing
Despite the Construction Products Association forecasting construction output to fall by a further 1.4% in 2013, Vent-Axia is investing in three new production assembly lines and creating 20 new jobs.

To achieve this capacity it has invested more than £350,000 in tooling for the new assembly lines for its domestic fan ranges and in funding building works to accommodate the increased manufacturing.

Last Friday (11 January), the company celebrated the launch of the new production lines at its headquarters on Fleming Way, in Crawley, West Sussex.

Henry Smith MP for Crawley and Mayor of Crawley, Councillor Keith Blake, officially opened the assembly lines by cutting the ribbon at Vent-Axia's Made in Britain launch event. Afterwards there was a tour of the facilities for guests.

The new UK domestic fan production lines will enable Vent-Axia to advance its service offering to customers. The expansion will allow improved stock control and product availability, helping clients to meet short construction deadlines.

In addition, the company is investing further in UK logistics to help lower the embodied energy of products by reducing transport emissions. A reduction in international shipping and flights will result in a saving of 15 Tonnes of CO² a year.
