US cooling solutions provider SPX Corporation has bought APV, manufacturer of heat exchangers and other engineering products for the sanitary market.
The SPX Corporation, a global provider of eco-friendly cooling systems completed the acquisition of APV at the end of December.

APV was previously a division of Invensys PLC, an international industrial automation, transportation and controls group based in London.

APV's primary products include pumps, valves, heat exchangers for the food and drink industries.

APV is now operating as part of SPX's flow technology division.

SPX said the acquisition benefits its process equipment operations serving key global markets,in particular Europe and Asia Pacific.

Chris Kearney, SPX president and CEO said 'With APV's broad spectrum of proven process solutions, rich heritage of innovation and wealth of engineering expertise, we are better positioned than ever to capitalize on the growing global demand for flow technology products and solutions.'

The company says it is focused on providing solutions to support the expansion of global infrastructure, with particular emphasis on growing demand for energy and power.

SPX is headquartered in North Carolina and employs more than 14,000 people worldwide in more than 20 countries.
