Specflue has announced that its new northern depot will be in Castleford, West Yorkshire.
Located just off junction 31 of the M62, the building will provide 20,000 square feet of warehouse space, a trade counter and customer parking.
The new facility has created 12 new jobs and allows Specflue to offer businesses in northern England and Scotland an improved service that equals that already offered to its customers in the south. Through its fleet of service vehicles, it will provide a next day service between the north Midlands and the Scottish border.
There are also plans underway to have a further base in Livingston, West Lothian, that can service most of mainland Scotland.
Since August last year, the company's Richard Tindall has been analysing the requirement and planning possible solutions, as well as project managing the implementation of this important strategic step in the company's growth.
He said: 'This is just the start of Specflue's presence in the north. Over the coming months, we are intending to increase our number of service vehicles significantly.
'When fully rolled out over 90% of Specflue's customers will have access to next day deliveries via the dedicated van service. And, with all vehicles being fully equipped with tail-lifts, they are capable of delivering pretty much our full product range of renewable heating supplies.'
Nigel Kitching has been appointed as the depot manager and joins the business with 25 years of warehousing and distribution experience, having worked with companies including Next, Asda, Morrisons and dhl.
Mr Kitching and his team will be working hard over the next couple of months to get the depot ready and deliveries will start in the week commencing 30 June.
