Schneider Electric launches online energy university

Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management, has launched Energy University by Schneider Electric, a free online educational community designed to help those involved in energy management to implement successful solutions.
The company explained: 'From contractors, architects and facilities managers to process design engineers, financial officers and business owners, the courses help anyone involved in the decision-making, management, planning, design, or construction of a space impacted by energy, to address efficiency issues and apply safe, reliable and cost effective measures.'
The Energy University courses focus on the critical concepts and best practices necessary to achieve a high degree of energy management. Subject matter is provided by experts from all areas of Schneider Electric, who assist in the development and creation of the courses. As the demand for new technologies and knowledge increases, Energy University will be incorporating additional courses to the programme.
UK specific courses currently available include:
· Energy Efficiency Fundamentals
· Introduction to Lighting Basics
· Measuring and Benchmarking Energy Performance
· Demand Response and the Smart Grid
· Going Green: Energy Efficiency in the Data Centre
Energy University is a web-based, on-demand resource offering a wide range of courses for professionals interested in delivering efficiency to their organisation. The online courses offer information on the solutions and theories to best manage the energy needs of any environment. Based on the proven philosophy behind solutions that enable and sustain energy efficiency and conservation, the courses provide a basis of understanding for energy consumption, applications, Return On Investment calculations, and solutions that can support change.
Energy efficiency marketing development manager David Lewis said: 'Schneider Electric believes there is a significant opportunity for sustainable financial and environmental savings that is unaddressed by industry and consumers today. Through Energy University, we aim to provide knowledge of the opportunities and skills to design and implement solutions which will benefit individuals and organisations, whatever their nature and consequently the environment.
