Roadshow racks up the miles

During September the Energy Efficiency & Renewables Roadshow travelled more than 1,100 miles to meet 5,000 trade professionals at venues nationwide, extending from Exeter to Edinburgh.

The Department of Energy & Climate Change led the line-up of 35 presentations and discussed the Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive. The other talks addressed topics ranging from ECO to energy monitoring and from heat pump installation to insulation.

Exhibitors at the events included Adey, Baxi, Gas Safe Register, GE, Glow-worm, Graham, Knauf Insulation, NAPIT, NatWest, NICEIC, Plumb Center, PTS, Rexel, Vaillant, Viessmann and Worcester.

Plumb Center is a long-time sponsor of the roadshows. The company's head of marketing, Julie Mclean said: 'We have supported the Energy Efficiency Exhibitions for the last three years as they provide the perfect platform for Plumb and Parts Center to engage with installers regionally. With the launch of Green Deal this year and the much-anticipated rollout of the domestic RHI in spring 2014, visitors have shown a lot of interest in finding out how they can be involved. The roadshow has enabled us to speak directly to installers and guide them through the training and accreditation process they will need to follow to take advantage of both of these initiatives.'

Plans are already underway for next year's event and the new Heating & Plumbing Roadshow will be launched alongside the Energy Efficiency & Renewables Roadshow. The dates are:

· 9 September 2014 Westpoint Arena, Exeter
· 11 September 2014 Ricoh Arena, Coventry
· 16 September 2014 Highland Centre, Scotland
· 18 September 2014 Event City, Manchester
· 23 September 2014 Sandown Park, Surrey

The Energy Efficiency & Renewables Awards will also return on 11 September 2014.
