RABScreen and Bacticell: a winning combination

Most people know that air handling equipment contains not just one, but multiple layers of filtration, each intended to cleanse to the 'fresh air' drawn into the building.

In a typical air handling environment, the first line of defence is usually a low-grade, low-efficiency media designed to capture larger particulates. Depending on the demand of the environment, additional filter layers may also be installed, most likely comprising panels and bags – also requiring regular replacement.

Consider this: If each filter needs to be manufactured, transported and stored before it is even installed, what is the cost? If that filter must be subsequently removed, transported and disposed of too, the administrative costs soon stack up, not to mention the environmental costs of transportation. We need to be more efficient.

History is full of great partnerships. Think Batman and Robin, Han Solo and Chewbacca, Tom and Jerry. They work well together because they complement each other perfectly. What would that perfect partnership look like in filtration?

First, imagine a long lasting disposable filter with lower air resistance than a standard filter and therefore, greater energy efficiency. Then, add an antimicrobial additive that inhibits the growth of mould, bacteria or viruses on the filter surface. Finally, what if it was easier to handle and store too? You'd have savings from all angles, right?

That product already exists. We call it the 'Bacticell'.

Next, consider what would happen if you could also protect your Bacticell filter from airborne debris externally too, stopping all leaves, pollen and countless other particulates from even entering the system in the first place. Would it impact airflow? Absolutely not. Would it be easy to clean? Of course. Would it last for 10 years? Without a doubt.

We call that product the 'RABscreen'.

Bacticell and RABScreen are a modern-day tag team designed to save you money on labour, storage and energy.

Easy to specify, easy to install, easier to see the benefits.
