Liverpool-based heating specialist Booth Mechanical Services has been sold for an undisclosed seven figure sum to Heatwise boss Shaun Maclean.

Heating, plumbing and gas maintenance firm Booth Mechanical Services has a £4.5 million turnover with 62 employees. The purchase of the 40 year-old firm sees its former joint owners, Ron Hitchmough and Tony Hall leave the company, while David Widdows will continue in his role as operations director.

Booth Mechanical Services (BMS) is Shaun Maclean's second acquisition in under six months. In June, he acquired a controlling share in Fylde-based Heatwise which employs 25 people in the North West.

Maclean set up Manchester-based Apollo Heating in 1996 before selling to Spice Plc in a £10 million deal in 2006. After the sale, Shaun worked for Spice as group managing director until March 2009.

Maclean plans to establish a national presence soon through both organic growth and acquisitions.

Maclean, said: 'This industry is in my blood and I plan to bring my passion, professionalism and business focus to the companies we are acquiring. My vision is that it will become a very exciting time for the employees and customers of both Booth Mechanical Services and Heatwise.'

The MD said all acquired businesses will trade under their own names and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
