Keynote speakers have been announced for this year’s Construction Industry Summit which takes place on 20 and 21 September at the Grange, St Paul’s Hotel in London.
Keynote speakers have been announced for this year’s Construction Industry Summit which takes place on 20 and 21 September at the Grange, St Paul’s Hotel in London.
They are: David Hancock, Government Construction Team – ‘Government Construction Strategy’; Lord Digby Jones, former Minister of State for UK Trade & Investment – ‘A Post Brexit Country’; Anne Bentley, Rider Levitt Bucknall; David Cash, BDP; Mike Putnam, Skanska; Simon Rawlinson, Arcadia – ‘Construction Leadership Council Question Time’; and Maggie Philbin, media presenter, president Institute of Engineering Designers and co-founder and ceo Teen Tech – ‘Technology, Diversity and Innovation’.
Also included in the programme is a comprehensive array of leading industry experts with presentations entitled: ‘Working with the Enemy: sharing, collaboration and trust’; ‘Disrupting the Norm; Buying Smart: better procurement and more sophisticated finance models’; ‘Smart Cities and Open Data: a data driven future’; and ‘Delivering the Future: a skills base for the 21st century’.
In addition, the Summit also features a number of breakout sessions that include Construction Youth Trust’s #notjustforboys debate, with panellists British Chinese stand-up comedian (and former Cambridge University Engineering student) Phil Wang and Sophie Walker, leader of the Women’s Equality Party; Paul Morrell, former HM Government chief construction adviser and chair of Built Environment Professional Education Project (BEPE), on achieving an inclusive environment.
