July 1 deadline sparks more 17th Edition courses
The 17th Edition of the Wiring Regulations published in January 2008 requires all electrical installations designed after July 1, to comply with the new standard and all must also be installed and certified as such.

ELECSA has added more dates to its nationwide series of 17th Edition and Part P sessions, to cope high demand. ELECSA offers two schemes:Full scope for fully qualified electricians whose main business is electrical installation work; defined scope for firms that do an element of electrical work as part of their main business e.g. builders, heating engineers and plumbers.

'Since the 17th Edition was published in January our open evenings have proved popular with electrical contractors who are looking to gain a simple overview of the new regulations' said Steve Mitchell, managing and operations director for self-certification scheme, ELECSA.

'With the regulations becoming mandatory from July 1, it’s even more important to get up to speed with the latest changes', he added.

The ELECSA evening scheme is aimed at allowing tradesmen to learn about Part P of the Building Regulations out of working hours. It costs £360+vat for an online application.

ELECSA is currently the third largest Part P scheme, with more than 3000 members. Membership includes free technical advice and support and benefits such as a customer warranty scheme.

The seminars can be booked online at ELECSA alternatively call 0845 634 9043.
