The Birmingham-based company is to design and install the mechanical services for 274 new apartments including 104 affordable units at Central Street near The Barbican for residential developer and contractor Mount Anvil.

JS Wright is set to start work in September on the two-acre site, which comprises a mix of one- to three-bed apartments in seven blocks of between five and 10 storeys.

The scheme, funded by Allied Irish Bank and Lloyds TSB Corporate Markets, also includes 4,500ft2 of commercial space which the company will also be fitting out.

An energy saving combined heat and power central boiler plant, hot and cold water distribution, drainage, ventilation smoke vents, dry risers and under-floor heating are among the systems the company will be installing.

One Housing Group, which manages more than 12,000 properties across London, will own and manage the affordable housing at the scheme which is scheduled for completion in July 2012 with phased handovers beginning in the summer of 2011.

The project is JS Wright's largest for Mount Anvil and brings to six the number of contracts it has been awarded by the developer in the past four years alone.

Commissions for Atlanta Boulevard, Chatham Place, Angel Wharf, Southbank and Barnsbury Place, worth more than £6million, have already resulted in the company fitting out more than 600 new-build or refurbished homes in London.
