Johnson & Starley acquires Quake Energy Services

Johnson & Starley has entered the renewable energy market by acquiring White Consolidated trading under the name of Quake Energy Services.
Quake Energy Services is an installer of thermal insulation systems, solar thermal hot water heating systems and solar photovoltaic electrical generation systems as well as wet boiler central heating installations.

The company is accredited under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme.

Johnson & Starley has acquired the company to manage and control system design and installation. Glenn Page, managing director of Johnson & Starley, said: 'These two processes are the determining factors of good systems that work efficiently. If they are inefficient, they may never pay back their capital cost or recover the embedded carbon - the 'carbon cost' - expended in the manufacture of the equipment. In the UK, the Microgeneration Certification Scheme presents a not insignificant barrier to entry and the scheme's coverage of the design and installation processes are there to drive and control quality.

'It is this most important and valuable part of the renewable energy value chain that Johnson & Starley has entered with the acquisition of Quake Energy Services, a company with an outstanding track record in high quality installation work and all-round professionalism.'
