Installer donates cashback to kids in need

A generous installer is getting into the spirit of giving this Christmas, by donating all the money raised through Baxi’s cashback initiative towards toys and gifts for underprivileged children.

In 2019, Joe Kelly from York claimed £900 through the boiler manufacturer’s annual cashback promotion, which he spent on toys for deserving children who were unlikely to receive Christmas presents that year.

Keeping up the festive tradition in 2020, Joe will be doing the same again this Christmas, and has raised £1,200 through the scheme which he will be donating to the Christmas Present Appeal with The Salvation Army.

Baxi’s cashback promotion was created to thank installers for their hard work by rewarding them with something to treat themselves or their families. It allows installers to claim a £300 return for every three Baxi 600 or 800 boiler installations registered on Baxi Works.

Joe said, “The cashback promotion is a great initiative from Baxi, particularly in the run up to Christmas, and while I’ve always been very grateful for the extra money in the festive countdown, I couldn’t help thinking there were people who might need it more than me.

“Last year I decided to spend all of the money I received through the promotion on toys and gifts for children who might not be receiving anything that Christmas, and it felt like a great way of giving back to young people who might be in need of a bit of festive joy.

“After a challenging 2020, it seemed only right to continue the tradition again this year, and I was pleased to have raised £1,200 through the initiative, all of which will go towards the Christmas Present Appeal via The Salvation Army.”

Andy Workman, sales director at Baxi, said: “Our cashback promotion was created to help give back to hardworking installers, but we’re absolutely thrilled to hear that Joe has chosen to donate all of the money claimed to a very deserving cause.

“Spreading a bit of festive cheer is so important at this time of year, particularly after the challenges we’ve all faced in 2020, and we’d like to thank Joe for both his incredible generosity and his ongoing support for Baxi.”
