HETAS puts the freeze on prices

HETAS has decided not to raise the price of its solid fuel and biomass competent persons scheme this year, to help out installers during the recession.
The approval body for solid fuel domestic heating appliances, fuels and services has adopted the price freeze despite demand for biomass appliances and training courses remaining high.

Chief executive Bruce Allen said 'We recognise that times are tough for many heating installers at the moment and we don't want to burden our registrants with extra business costs in this current economic climate.'

Demand for wood/biomass training courses is up 30% when compared to last year. HETAS has a new course for qualified gas and oil installers who want to tap into the rising demand for biomass and solid fuel installations. HETAS is also expanding its range of appliance approval and installer schemes to include the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS).
