Never mind the X-Factor, HVAC individuals are gearing up to take part in the S-Factor hosted on day one of London HEVAR 2009, with sustainability the hot word on building services professional's lips.
Competitors will really feel the heat on September 23, when they are put in the firing line of S-Factor judges to argue that their chosen sustainability solution has the S-Factor.
Exhibiting companies are being invited to participate by putting themselves forward as technology 'champions' who will face the judges.
Based on the format of the popular TV show 'X Factor',
the judges will grill contestants and give their view about each technology and whether it has the sustainability factor or not. The judging panel will be made up of Graham Manly from the HVCA, Ant Wilson from AECOM and David Frise from NG Bailey.
Hosted at the Royal Horticultural Halls in London's Greycoat Street, attendees to London HEVAR 2009 will listen to arguments voiced for and against different technologies to consider which technologies are truly sustainable, before making their own mind up to vote for their winner.
Heat pumps, solar thermal, biomass and others may get a chance to impress the judges but to catch the S-Factor, visit the Royal Horticultural Halls on September 23.
